According to Ratan Tata, the Chairman of the Tata Group, who was addressing the South Korean daily Maeil Business Newspaper, Tata Motors has plans for manufacturing the hybrid versions of Nano. Nano is termed as the cheapest car of the world.

According to Ratan Tata, India will respond to low-priced goods in a better manner than it responds to high-end products, which slowly will spread across the world.

Tata Motors, India's biggest vehicle maker, saw the car industry's future lying in economic-friendly models, the daily said.

But he has not disclosed more in the cost of the hybrid versions. The first Nano hit Indian market in July and was priced at $2,000.

He has also mentioned that Tata Motors has plans for exporting Ace, the light truck from the company, to South Korea. The firm also plans to explore chances for assembling or manufacturing the model in the plant located in South Korea.

The Indian conglomerate is also studying investments in automobiles, software and hotel businesses as well as bio fuel in South American markets such as Brazil and Argentina.
