US Stocks: The Week Ahead (May 4 - 8)

In the coming week, investors are likely to turn their attention on the details of the stress test results. Results of the stress test conducted by government officials, the Federal Reserve will be released on May 7 publicly. It is being rumored that Citigroup and Bank of America would be forced to raise fresh capital following the declaration of results.

On the earnings front, a number of bigger names including Kraft Foods (NYSE: KFT), Cisco Systems (NASDAQ: CSCO), Sprint Nextel (NYSE: S), and Walt Disney (NYSE: DIS).

Major retailers will be reporting April same-store sales figures Thursday.

Meanwhile, the economic calendar kicks off with construction spending and pending home sales data on Monday. ISM Services is due for release on Tuesday. ADP employment report is scheduled for release on Wednesday. Weekly initial claims and consumer credit data is to be reported on Thursday. Friday's economic calendar features employment data.
